12th and 13th October

Writing all day today for my talk in school on Monday. I did a bit of reading too. Why does it feel so reckless and lazy to read during the day? I’ve just finished a novel by Graham Norton. It’s called the Keeper and it was really good. I love GN so hoped I wouldn’t be disappointed but also hoped I wouldn’t just hear his voice in my head as I read the book. All good on both points. Definitely worth a read. Some real insightfulness into human nature and emotions in it. Lovely.

I walked to the supermarket for some bits and rediscovered my love of TUC biscuits!!! I’d forgotten how good they are. I can’t stop eating them. Lovely with red wine!

My other new addiction is Queer Eye on Netflix. I am hooked! They are all so gorgeous and it’s made me cry several times. I want the Fab 5 to come and sort me out. Especially Jonathan 🙂

One unsavoury thing I need to mention is the amount of dog poo there is on the streets here. The towns are beautiful and so neat and tidy but everywhere you go- it’s there. I remember it used to be like that in the UK and I hadn’t ever really thought about how much better it is now until I came here and saw it all over the pavements. Anyway, there we are. Sorry if you’re reading this whilst eating. Believe me it took something for me to even write it. Yuk!

I had a brief chat with Will. My cordless headphones aren’t working so I rang for some technical support. We think they might be broken 😦

I didn’t do my week 2 run 1 today (C25K) because I was busy writing so I’ve reset the reminder for tomorrow……….

I was going to go to Combourg today but it it was raining so I stayed put. There is a chateau there where the romantic novelist Francois René de Chateaubriand lived for a time. He was born in St Malo in 1768 and died in Paris, aged 70. He had quite a life and was a soldier, a politician and a writer.

I had a lovely chat with Trish, then a FaceTime call with Barbara and another lovely chat with Charlotte today.

I had lunch, read my notes for tomorrow and then did my run. It was hard today, probably because I’d left 2 days between runs rather than the recommended 1 day.

Early bed. Nervous about tomorrow!
